What We Publish
NAHJ Journal welcomes original, previously unpublished research across its three thematic pillars: Cultural and Historical Studies, Neuro-Humanities and Cognitive Theory, and Critical Modernity and Social Dynamics. We publish three types of contributions:
Original scholarly research with full argumentation, evidence, and engagement with existing literature. Standard article format with abstract and references.
Critical engagement with one or more recent publications, situating them within broader scholarly conversations. More than a book review — an essay in its own right.
A short, focused contribution addressing a single argument, methodological question, or intervention in an ongoing debate. Footnotes are welcome but not required. References must be cited consistently throughout.
Submission Requirements
Review Process
All submissions undergo initial editorial screening for scope and quality. Manuscripts that pass screening are sent for double-blind peer review by at least two qualified scholars.
We aim to provide decisions within 10 weeks of submission. Decisions include: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject. All decisions are accompanied by reviewer comments.
